The difference is the base oil. Multi-Purpose Grease has a Polyalphaolefin (PAO) synthetic oil base. PAO-based lubricants are commonly used in automotive and industrial applications. Silicone Lubricating grease is silicone based. These lubricants are commonly used to limit friction at high temperatures, reduce noise and mechanical wear between plastic and rubber contact points.

No, our Multi-Purpose and High Temperature greases are silicone free. Syncolon®, our proprietary ingredient, does not contain silicone.

Super Lube Multi-Use Synthetic Oil can be used to effectively thin out Multi-Purpose Grease. Super Lube Multi-Use Synthetic Lightweight Oils are also available in viscosities ranging from ISO 22 to ISO 68 to help with precise applications. When thinning Silicone-based grease, we recommend Super Lube Silicone 100cSt oil.

We recommend Super Lube Multi-Purpose Synthetic Grease for use when servicing and protecting bearings.

We recommend Super Lube Multi-Purpose Synthetic Grease for freezer use, as it can handle temperatures down to -45°F.
